Handlooms to Self-Help: Weaving a Network of Sustainable Income and Financial Independence.

The Santipur Block Administration is actively working to alleviate poverty by organizing rural women into Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the Anandadhara (WBSRLM) scheme. We believe in moving beyond subsistence to sustainable income generation.

Our Approach:

  • Institution Building: Mobilizing women into SHGs, Upasanghas, and Sanghas to create a strong collective voice.

  • Financial Inclusion: Facilitating Bank Linkages and Cash Credit (CC) limits to provide capital for small businesses.

  • Skill Training: Providing training in tailoring, food processing, and animal husbandry to turn homemakers into entrepreneurs.

  • Sangha Marketing: Promoting products made by local SHG clusters at district fairs (Sabala Mela) and local markets.
